Year 6 Class Page

Since starting in Year 6 we have been spending our Literacy sessions looking at Biographies and Autobiographies. In preparation for writing our own biography we spent a lot of time researching Roald Dahl and his life. We also looked at the impact of his life experiences on his writing.

Here we are with a selection of the work we produced on Roald Dahl.

In Maths we have been spending lots of time working on learning our times tables and improving our mental maths work generally. We do a lot of this work on individual whiteboards for ease and speed.

In these photos we were answering questions on our whiteboards and then feeding back to the class with our answers.

During our gymnastics sessions this term we have been working on flight. We created routines that included a flight movement, a travel, a roll and a balance. In these photos we are working on improving our balance skills:

We have also spent a lot of time working in groups. During this time we have worked on improving our communication and cooperation skills to produce some excellent group pieces, including some work on solar panels that we shared in assembly as part of the Elm School Go Green campaign. Group work also gives us a great opportunity to work on our ICT skills. Here we are working on the fizzbooks and producing our Solar Panel presentation boards:
